Balayage and Ombre Services
Chantal’s balayage and ombré services are designed to create soft brightness, dimensional colour and a personalised transition between the roots, mid-lengths and ends.
These services combine strategic foiling, freehand painting, face-framing placement and zone toning to create a result that feels blended rather than heavily striped. The final effect may be subtle and natural or significantly lighter, depending on your starting colour, hair history, condition and desired finish.
Balayage is ideal for clients wanting softer, lived-in lightness with brighter framing around the face. Ombré is a more intensive lightening service designed to create a stronger progression from deeper roots into lighter lengths and ends.
Who is this service for?
Balayage and ombré services are suitable for clients wanting to:
• Create softer, lived-in brightness
• Add lighter face-framing pieces
• Blend brighter panels throughout the hair
• Reduce the appearance of harsh regrowth
• Create multidimensional blonde or lighter colour
• Refresh an existing balayage between larger appointments
• Add a stronger light-to-dark transition through the lengths
• Achieve a more comprehensive lightening result
• Combine foiling, teased sections and freehand painting
• Maintain depth at the roots while brightening the ends
Common Concerns
• Existing colour looking flat or one-dimensional
• Hair needing brightness around the face
• Previous balayage becoming dull or grown out
• Lightened panels losing their intended tone
• A harsh line between the root area and lighter lengths
• Mid-lengths and ends needing greater brightness
• Existing foils lacking softness or dimension
• Warm or brassy tones developing between appointments
• Wanting a lighter result without a traditional full-head foil appearance
• Uncertainty about whether to book balayage, a face-frame refresh or ombré
Consultation and Approach
Each balayage or ombré appointment begins with an assessment of your existing colour, natural base, previous colour history, hair condition and desired level of lightness.
Chantal will determine the most suitable combination of techniques, which may include:
• Face-framing foils
• Scattered lighter panels
• Teasy lights
• Freehand hair painting
• Root blending
• Zone toning
• Tonal adjustment through the mid-lengths and ends
The placement and formulation are personalised to create a result that works with your haircut, skin tone, natural movement and preferred maintenance schedule.
For major transformations, very dark starting colours or previous colour correction, more than one appointment may be required.
What Is Included?
Balayage and ombré services include the lightening application, processing, basin work and toner described within the individual service.
Treatments, dry-off, blow-dry, styling and cutting services are not automatically included and should be booked separately.
Results and maintenance
Balayage is designed to grow out more softly than traditional uniform highlights, but the tone will still gradually fade over time.
A face-framing balayage refresh is generally suitable several months after the original service when the brighter front sections need maintenance but the full balayage does not yet need repeating.
Ombré is a more comprehensive lightening service and may require ongoing toner maintenance, treatments and carefully selected home care to preserve both tone and condition.

$315 · Approximately 2 hours 10 minutes

This service is generally most suitable approximately four to six months after the original balayage, depending on hair growth, tone and the original placement.
The appointment includes targeted foiling around the face, followed by zone toning to reconnect the refreshed sections with the existing balayage.
The appointment includes approximately:
• 45 minutes for application
• 30 minutes for processing
• 15 minutes for washing and basin work
• 20 minutes for toner application
• 20 minutes for toner processing

This service is intended to refresh an existing balayage rather than recreate a complete full-head result.
Please also book a treatment where required, followed by your preferred After-Colour Dry-Off, blow-dry or cutting service.
Ombré
$515 · Approximately 4 hours
An intensive full-head lightening service designed to create a more complete transition from deeper roots into lighter mid-lengths and ends.
The technique combines:
• Full-head foils placed toward the root
• Teasy lights for softer blending
• Freehand painting between the foils
• Toner to refine the final shade
This detailed combination allows Chantal to create significant brightness while maintaining a controlled and blended transition through the hair.
A toner is included within the service.
Because ombré involves extensive lightening and detailed placement, the service requires approximately four hours before any additional treatment or finishing appointment.
A treatment service should be booked where required. You must also add an After-Colour Dry-Off, blow-dry, styling or cutting service.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between balayage and ombre?
Balayage refers to the placement technique used to create softly blended lightness throughout selected areas of the hair.
Ombré describes a more noticeable transition from deeper roots into progressively lighter mid-lengths and ends. Chantal’s ombré service combines several techniques to create this effect.
Is toner included?
Yes. Toner is included in the Balayage, Balayage Face-Framing Refresh and Ombré services described on this page.
Why is zone toning used after balayage?
Different areas of the hair may lift to different levels or require different tonal adjustments.
Zone toning allows Chantal to refine the roots, mid-lengths and lighter areas separately where required, creating a more controlled and seamless finish.
When should I book a face-framing balayage refresh?
This service is generally suitable around four to six months after a full balayage, when the front sections need renewed brightness but the rest of the placement still looks balanced.
Can I book the face-framing service without having had balayage first?
It is primarily designed to maintain an existing balayage.
For a first balayage appointment or a more extensive change, book the complete Balayage service or contact Chantal before booking.
